Helping families adapt, recover and build economic stability
Climate shocks continue to affect families in Nyando. Floods disrupt farming, small businesses, food security, education and household stability. Recovery becomes harder when families have limited savings, weak income sources and few safety nets.
Within the Community Resilience Model, this capability focuses on the economic and environmental pressures that make recovery difficult. We support locally driven actions that strengthen livelihoods, food security, savings, practical preparedness and care for the ecosystems families depend on.

We work with communities, schools, youth groups, women's groups and local structures to promote climate action and livelihood resilience.

- Eco schools and biodiversity clubs that help learners take practical climate action.

Who we work with
We work with flood affected families, youth, women, smallholder farmers, learners, schools, local leaders and community groups in Nyando and surrounding communities.
What we want to change
We want households to have stronger livelihood options, practical preparedness, greater economic buffers and locally relevant climate practices that reduce how far a shock pushes them backwards.
Why it matters
Climate resilience is not only about the environment. It is also about livelihoods, dignity, safety and the ability of families to plan beyond the next crisis.
